3. Provision of the Website and Server Logs

When you access this website, the web server processes connection data that is technically required. This may include your IP address, the date and time of access, the requested address, the amount of data transferred, the referrer, browser type and operating system. Processing is carried out to ensure secure and reliable operation and to analyze errors. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the security and availability of our website. Log data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for these purposes, unless statutory retention obligations or a specific security incident require longer storage.

4. Technically Necessary Session Cookie

This website sets the technically necessary session cookie vaf2_session only when you select a language, open the contact page or already have an active session. It stores your selected language and protects security-relevant form functions. The cookie is not used for analytics or advertising and expires at the end of the browser session. Its storage is necessary to provide the function you explicitly requested. The legal bases are Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Contact Form

Once the contact form has been activated, and if you use it, we process your name, email address, optional subject and message in order to handle and respond to your inquiry. Article 6(1)(b) GDPR is the legal basis for inquiries relating to a contract. In other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in efficiently handling inquiries pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

The information is forwarded internally to the departments responsible for handling the inquiry. It remains stored until the purpose of the inquiry no longer applies, you submit a justified request for deletion, or statutory retention obligations require continued storage. Please do not submit confidential or particularly sensitive information through the form.

6. Google Maps

A Google Maps map can be loaded on the contact page. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The map is not loaded automatically. Only after you select “Load Google Maps” will your browser establish a connection to Google. In particular, your IP address and technical connection data may then be processed and transferred to Google LLC in the United States. The legal bases are your selection pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Reloading the page disables the embedded map again. 7. External Applicant Portal

Vacancies are provided through the external applicant portal vafgmbh.pi-asp.de. The portal is not loaded automatically. A connection is only established after you select a job category or the “Load vacancies” button. The provider then processes technically necessary connection data such as your IP address. The legal bases for loading the portal are your selection pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Information you subsequently provide as part of an application is also subject to the applicant portal’s privacy information and the provisions governing application procedures, in particular Section 26 BDSG.

8. Recipients and Transfers

Personal data is disclosed only to internal departments and service providers where this is necessary for the stated purposes, required by law or supported by another legal basis. Data may be transferred to third countries when you explicitly load Google services. The respective provider supplies information about the safeguards used for such transfers.

9. Your Rights

Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation.
